So how do you avoid repeating the mistakes of the 99% who fail and join the 1% who succeed? This article will give advice.
01 What is a Niche and Why is It Important for Businesses to Focus on One Particular Area
First is Niche, the letter N stands for Niche, whether you do Shopify or any e-commerce first consider what segment to choose, in short, you have to select the product to sell.
Social media marketing also follows the principle that 20% of the work determines 80% of the results. 99% of people’s mistake is to follow the trend and use various analytics to reach the Niche conclusion of a product that countless stores are selling.
To give a specific example, like a dog collar. People, or most people, don’t buy generic products from Shopify stores or Facebook ads, just like you wouldn’t buy toilet paper from a Facebook ad.
What you should do is to use the search engine’s auto-populate phrase function to find inspiration when searching for Niche. For example, add a space a after the generic product dog collar and choose one of the following automatically generated entries for Niche.
Like dog collar army is good, you can use Facebook ads to test the army style dog collar, including dog collar inspired by some famous generals in history, are very good Niche.
or dog collar followed by spaces b, c until you find a satisfactory Niche.
As an example, for earrings, instead of choosing generic earrings, use the method we described above to find inspiration from search engine auto-populated terms.
Imagine if one of your Facebook users has a birthday coming up and her husband wants to buy her a pair of earrings as a birthday gift.
Conversely if generic products like dog collars and earrings are chosen, then it is unlikely that anyone will buy these products from Facebook ads.
Before creating your Shopify store, you should think about how to pinpoint your audience and find your target group of customers. Therefore your Niche should not be a generic product.
02 Many Store Owners Make the Mistake of Not Spending Enough Time on Research
99% of people have the false idea that a Shopify store can make someone rich overnight. These people think they can go from knowing nothing about Shopify to creating their own successful e-commerce business in a day or a week.
What they don’t know is that successful e-commerce businesses test hundreds of products every day, change the various settings of their stores, and conclude which products are successful and which are not; like all business activities, creating a successful e-commerce business requires a lot of time investment, a lot of work and a certain amount of capital investment.
Don’t think that you can just use Oberlo to import items to your Shopify store and wait for successful Dropshipping to become the next overnight millionaire. You need to do a lot of real work, such as creating mailing lists, building good relationships with your customers, retargeting customers, sending coupons to old customers, etc.
03 Fail Once and Give Up
Many people put a total of less than 10 items in their stores, create ad groups for each item, have no successful sales for any of them, and then abandon their Shopify stores.
